Northampton Saints is delighted to confirm that today’s match against Sale Sharks will be going ahead, with kick-off set for 3pm at Franklin’s Gardens.
Saints staff have worked tirelessly through the night to ensure the Stadium – as well as the car parks and roads surrounding the ground – is fit for purpose and safe to stage the game.
Northampton Saints would like to remind supporters to be as safe as possible in travelling to today’s fixture.
The Club understands the frustrations of both Saints and Sale Sharks supporters who are unable to reach the Stadium due to the weather.
According to Premiership Rugby’s protocols, the Club is required to do everything in its power to ensure the games go ahead as planned – if the Stadium is safe and the pitch is suitable, Northampton Saints is obliged to stage the game in its allocated slot.
If a match is deemed to have been postponed unnecessarily, the Club is liable to be penalised by Premiership Rugby.
