Dickson to skipper England against Barbarians

Travis PerkinsSponsored by Travis Perkins

Dickson skippered the England Saxons in their Six Nations win over Irish Wolfhounds in Cork earlier in the year, but this weekend will see him lead the team out at Twickenham against a star-studded Barbarians outfit fresh from their own success in the Emerald Isle on Thursday evening.

Three other Saints have been included in the match day 23, with forwards Alex Waller, Gareth Denman and Jon Fisher all named on the bench.

“We’ve had a short but very good week in camp and the players have worked hard,” said England head coach Stuart Lancaster. “I’ve been extremely happy with the way they have gone about their training and prep off the field.

“This is an exciting group of players who will be eager to impress in an England shirt with a number of guys having one eye on the World Cup in September. We know the Barbarians have a large number of experienced international guys and they will be ready for us having played Ireland last night. We are expecting a tough encounter.”

Tickets for the Barbarians match are still available and priced from £35 and £15 for juniors (U16) at www.ticketmaster.co.uk or 0844 847 2492.
