Saints’ Teimana Harrison has been named Aviva Player of the Month for April following a string of impressive performances in the Premiership.

Harrison, who was called up to the England squad at the weekend, played an important role in Saints’ top-five finish in the Premiership to ensure his side will be playing Champions Cup rugby next season.

Also nominated for the award alongside Harrison were Wasps’ wing Christian Wade, who scored six tries in their match against Worcester Warriors, and Leicester Tigers’ hooker Harry Thacker.

“Teimana Harrison has been a bright spark for Northampton Saints,” said Austin Healey, BT Sport Analyst.

“Teimana has displayed exactly the physicality, ball carrying and downright dog that (Saints’ coach) Dorian West requires from his players.”

The winner of this award was chosen by a panel of nine judges, with rugby supporters acting as the “10th judge”.

Harrison has won a trophy and a £250 donation to the charity of his choice.
