JJ Van Der Mescht named cinch Player of the month for November

JJ Van Der Mescht has been named cinch Player of the Month for November, after the South African lock impressed supporters with his performances in the month.

The 6’7”, 145kg second row arrived at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens from Stade Français in the summer and has represented the Black, Green and Gold jersey nine times so far this season.

Van Der Mescht only featured in Saints’ two final outings in November, but the lock announced his return to action in fine try-scoring form – collecting a brace against Leicester before crossing the whitewash again in Saints’ trip to Bristol.

The lock collected some 48% of the supporter vote for this month’s award pipping fellow teammates George Furbank, Ed Prowse, Oliver Scola and Toby Thame for the prize.

Throughout the season, cinch will also be offering up a range of prizes for those who vote for the award, with one lucky supporter each month selected at random after voting closes.

This month, Tony Gooing was chosen out of over 800 supporters who voted – with the Van Der Mescht supporter winning themself a Saints ball signed by the South African lock.
