The competition builds on the success of the Elite Insurance Sevens Series, which has seen massive growth in its schools tournament from the first year to the second.
Long Buckby beat Northampton Old Scouts in the final of the Club Sevens’ Northamptonshire regional tournament, and both teams will head to Franklin’s Gardens for Finals Day in August.
This week’s tournament was held at Olney RFC, with subsequent regional competitions coming at Colchester RFC (Suffolk; Wednesday, April 16th), Cambridge RFC (Cambridgeshire; Wednesday, April 23rd) and Dunstablians RFC (Bedfordshire; Tuesday, April 29th).
Entries are still being accepted from Under-13 club teams for the Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire tournaments, and if clubs missed out on either the Northamptonshire or Suffolk legs they are welcome to enter either of the other two legs of the Series.
The winners and runners-up from each regional tournament will join Long Buckby and Old Scouts at the home of the Saints on Friday, August 1st, the same day as the Northampton leg of the 2014 Premiership Rugby Sevens Series.
