Northampton General Hospital want to thank Saints supporters for their generous donations to their Beside Book Club campaign.
Saints got on board with the campaign and became one of the donation stations during last week’s fixture with Scarlets. The #SaintsNation came out in support of the brilliant idea and donated several hundred books to the General Hospital’s campaign.
Emma Wimpress, Volunteer Services Manager at Northampton General Hostpital, said that they were grateful for everyone who had donated and hope to launch their Beside Book Club scheme next month with the variety of books they have had donated.
“We’re hoping to go live with the Beside Book Club in the next month or so,” Emma told SaintsTV.
“We’re just in the process of covering all the books that were donated to make sure they’re in line with our infection prevention.
“Basically what will happen is the Book Club will go out on a trolley with volunteers twice a week in the first instance.
“They’ll load the trolley up with books and offer them to the patients to read while they’re with us free of charge.
“It’s a great opportunity for our patients to do something a bit different and hopefully entertain their mind while they’re in hospital.
“The campaign has been absolutely incredible, especially from the Saints supporters. We are overwhelmed by the response so thank you very, very much from everyone here.
“It’s been a great response with books donated from all over Northampton so we’re very grateful for the support from everybody.”
