OSPREYS 9 SAINTS 20 Dickinson: We put our foot back down

Defeat at Sale was far from the perfect preparation leading into a huge fortnight of Champions Cup rugby, but the men in lime rediscovered glimpses of their pre-Christmas form to outscore their hosts two tries to nil in at Liberty Stadium.

“We knew that we had to react,” Dickinson told SaintsTV. “Against a decent Ospreys side, who have a really good home record, I thought we did that.

“It was important for us not to lose back-to-back. It’s something Dylan [Hartley] has been drilling into us all week. We took our foot off the gas a bit at Sale but today we made sure we put it back down and we’ll have to keep it down next week.

“It wasn’t the perfect game, but it’s always going to be tough playing away rugby. We’re just happy to get the win.”

Victory for the Saints means next Saturday’s visit of Racing is a winner takes all tie for a home quarter final.
