Saints return home to face Worcester Warriors on Saturday

Saints return home this weekend for the first time in three weeks to host Worcester Warriors at Franklin’s Gardens in the sixteenth round of the Aviva Premiership.

Suffering a tough loss at Kingston Park to Newcastle Falcons last weekend, Saints regroup as they return to the Gardens in the top tier of English rugby for the first time since January 7th in the competition.

Since 2004, Saints have faced Worcester 22 times and won 14 of those matches. Worcester, sitting in 11th position in the table, just six points above bottom-of-the-league Bristol, suffered a 38-43 defeat to Exeter Chiefs last weekend but pulled off a shock win over Saracens at Sixways the week before.

The fixture between the two sides was a tightly contested affair when Saints made the trip to Sixways earlier in the season. Stephen Myler knocked over six penalties for the travelling side but two tries from Worcester got them back into it and a last minute yellow card for Saints Calum Clark saw the home side with a penalty in the last play of the game. Worcester’s young fly-half, Jamie Shillcock, send his kick from halfway just short, however, and Saints left with a narrow one-point victory.

With both sides needing a win this weekend, this Saturday’s game is likely to be another tough test and Saints need every voice at Franklin’s Gardens behind them. Tickets for Saturday’s game are limited but still available by CLICKING HERE so make your voice count.
