Wandies name strong side for trip to table-topping Worcester

Fly-half James Grayson will lead Northampton Wanderers again this evening, as the Premiership Rugby Shield competition continues with the side travelling to Sixways to face Worcester Cavaliers.

The Wanderers sit third in the Northern Conference heading into the clash, with two wins from three matches so far, but another triumph against the unbeaten Cavaliers would be a huge boost to the side’s ambition to secure a place in the competition’s knock-out stages.

Fullback Harry Mallinder continues his return at fullback, while Northampton also welcome back the likes of James Fish, Ben Franks and Reece Marshall from injury layoffs.

Youngsters Fraser Dingwall, Fraser Strachan, Josh Gillespie, Ryan Olowofela and Connor Tupai get an opportunity for some valuable minutes as they start the clash, while a second Rugby World Cup winner in Owen Franks also starts in the Wanderers’ front row.

Lewis Bean and Alex Coles are named together in the engine room, with a back row of Devante Onojaife, Ollie Newman and Mitch Eadie rounding off the line-up.
