Here are four players that we think might have an impact.
SARACENS
BEN RANSOM is almost the blueprint of what the LV= Cup can do for young rugby players. The competition’s top attacker last season, Ransom led the LV= Cup in metres made and carries from full back, both areas in which he is top of the charts for Saracens this year
MATT HANKIN An Academy produced Saracen, back row forward Hankin looks to have a bright future at Allianz Park. A Junior World Champion with England in 2013, the 21 year old already has 14 senior appearances to his name. He also leads the LV= Cup in tackles made (58)
SAINTS
TOM COLLINS A nominee for the LV= Breakthrough Player of the Year, the LV= Cup has again allowed Collins to excel for the Saints. The Academy-bred flyer starts on the wing tomorrow, but has been equally devastating from full back, scoring two tries and just 13 metres short of top spot (239 metres made)
PHIL DOWSON, because to put it bluntly, when doesn’t he make an impact?! In his last two outings for the LV= Cup, the skipper has made a combined 64 carries and tackles – 27 of the latter coming against Wasps alone! He now lies second overall for both areas. Expect Dowson to lead from the front as always
Each week the winner of the Saints’ fantasy game wins a pair of match tickets – not bad for a FREE competition! All you have to do is pick your five players and then head to www.northamptonsaints.co.uk/fantasy to play!
