The flanker had an outstanding February, leading the Saints throughout their unbeaten month to the top of the Aviva Premiership table and the LV= Cup knockout stages.
Leading from the front, Dowson had a 100 percent tackling success rate in the Aviva Premiership wins over Worcester and Newcastle, and carried the ball an average of 12 times per match.
He beat off competition from scrum-half Kahn Fotuali'i and wing Jamie Elliott in an online poll of Northampton Saints supporters.
While the public was casting its vote, the club's coaches were deciding that head of analysis Ross Appleton deserved the accolade of TW Steel Clubman of the Month.
Appleton joined the Saints in 2008 and while the vast majority of his work is done out of the view of the general public his contributions have helped the team to its current place at the top end of English club rugby.
“Ross has been an outstanding member of the support staff for a number of years,” said director of rugby Jim Mallinder. “As head of analysis he is at every game, home and away, but he then also works during his days off to make sure that the players and coaches can be fully prepared during the week ahead of our next game.
“Ross is a vital cog in the wheel and thoroughly deserves his TW Steel Clubman of the Month award.”
The club also announced that Sue Forsey, who was one of the hundreds and hundreds of supporters who cast their vote in November, has won the £50 voucher for Steffans Northampton.
