Northampton Saints’ Tommy Freeman and Henry Pollock have been shortlisted for honours at The Rugby Awards.
For the first time, Premiership Rugby, the Rugby Players Association (RPA), Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) and Rugby Football Union (RFU) have joined forces to celebrate the best of English Rugby at The Rugby Awards, presented by Gallagher.
And Saints stars’ will be up for some top prizes on Tuesday 3 June in the inaugural awards ceremony at The Brewery in London.
After scoring in all five rounds of the 2025 Guinness Six Nations, Freeman has been shortlisted for the England Men’s Player of the Season, presented by Avanta Wealth, along with Tom Curry (Sale Sharks), Maro Itoje (Saracens) and Will Stuart (Bath Rugby).
Having already been nominated for the 2025 Investec Player of the Year, Pollock is also now in the running for Breakthrough Player of the Season, presented by Defender.
The 20-year-old is up against Afolabi Fasogbon (Gloucester Rugby), Asher Opoku-Fordjour (Sale Sharks) and Joseph Woodward (Leicester Tigers).
The shortlists for the Gallagher Premiership Rugby awards were chosen by a panel consisting of Rachael Burford (RPA), Christian Day (RPA), Jill Douglas (ITV, BBC), Ali Eykyn (TNT Sports), Hugh Godwin (i), Chris Jones (BBC), Alex Lowe (The Times), Gavin Mairs (Telegraph), Ugo Monye (BBC, TNT Sports), Nick Mullins (TNT Sports) and Claire Thomas (BBC, TNT Sports).
The winners of the Gallagher Player of the Season and Breakthrough Player of the Season, presented by Defender, will be determined following a player vote.
Loughborough Lightning have also received two nominations. Lilli Ives Campion is in the running for Premiership Women’s Rugby Breakthrough Player of the Season and Nathan Smith is shortlisted for the Director of Rugby of the Season accolade.
