Lawes: Win comes first

Travis PerkinsSponsored by Travis Perkins

England are currently in the driving seat, leading the way on aggregate points difference and also playing the weekend’s final fixture. The second row believes it would be foolish to ignore the sizeable challenge of simply winning at Twickenham though.

“I don’t know whether Stuart will let us know how many we need,” he told the England Rugby Podcast. “Throughout the week it will all be about getting the basics right and putting that out on the field, sticking to our game plan and executing. That’s all we can do.

“Of course the ‘W’ is the most important thing. Without that it’s all over, and the French aren’t going to roll over either. We’ll really have to take it to them and it’s an exciting challenge.

“Hopefully everything else will look after itself.”

England host France on Saturday afternoon, with the 5pm kick off at HQ live on the BBC.
