Northampton Saints will bring up a decade of hosting residential camps at Stowe School next year, with the Club delighted to confirm dates for the summer of 2020.
With all the facilities you could want for a rugby academy, Stowe School provides not only outstanding pitches but a magnificent and inspiring setting to help aspiring players hone their skills.
“I loved it every time I went to a Stowe camp with Saints – there’s nothing better than playing the sport you love with your best mates.”
Harry Mallinder
Saints’ community team first brought their residential camps to Stowe in 2010 with the vision of creating an environment for starlets to develop both on and off the field while creating memories to last a lifetime.
And now the camps hit new heights every year, with 250 coming through the gates in 2019 and three-day, five-day and girls-only options now available to cater for every need.
The Northampton Saints first-team squad also grace the camps, allowing youngsters to watch their own preseason training before jumping in and offering hands-on advice with coaching clinics, and fullback Harry Mallinder believes his own Stowe experiences paved the way for him to progress into the professional game.
“I loved it every time I went to a Stowe camp with Saints – there’s nothing better than playing the sport you love with your best mates,” said Mallinder, who attended the Stowe residential camps in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
“I loved these camps when I was younger and for me as a 14-year-old lad, I looked up to these senior players and hopefully they look up to our guys now.
“It’s great to come back and see so many enthusiastic young people playing rugby; it’s just a testament to how good a camp it is.”
Dates are already set for the camps in August 2020, with places available to purchase now at a special Early Early Bird rate.
“Spending a week at Stowe helped me realise that rugby is about enjoying yourself and playing with a smile on your face.”
James Grayson
Those who book before the end of November will also receive a gift box as part of their booking, making Stowe 2020 the perfect gift to unwrap this Christmas for any budding rugby player.
James Grayson – who attended the camps in 2010, 2011 and 2012 – added: “It’s an awesome experience. The way the school is set up makes it feel almost like a professional environment.
“Spending the week there with my friends helped me realise that rugby is about enjoying yourself and playing with a smile on your face. I made memories that I will keep forever.”
