George Patten joined Northampton Saints’ Senior Academy on a full-time basis ahead of the 2022/23 season, putting pen to paper on his first professional contract in April 2022.

The prop was part of the Club’s Under-18s side which reached the final of Premiership Rugby’s Academy League during the 2021/22 campaign, initially entering the Junior Academy with the Northants Under-13 Developing Player Programme.

Patten played a multitude of positions in his time with Northampton School for Boys (where he featured in the National Cup Final) and Northampton Old Scouts – with stints at No.8, flanker, inside centre and fly-half all on his resume – but he will transition to prop as a Saints Senior Academy player.

Patten become Saint #2047 as he came off the bench at Saracens in the Premiership Rugby Cup during the 2021/22 season, before making his home debut at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens the following week against Newcastle Falcons.
