Vote now for your cinch Player of the Month for March and win!

Voting for the cinch Player of the Month award for March is open, with supporters able to choose the Saint they believe made the biggest contribution on the pitch across the month.

The competition will remain open until Thursday 17 April, when winning player is announced by Northampton Saints and cinch.

Throughout the season, cinch are also offering up a range of prizes for those who vote for the award, with one lucky supporter each month selected at random after voting closes. For March, one lucky winner will receive a personalised signed Saints shirt from the winner of this month’s vote!

Northampton got back to action in the Gallagher Premiership in March, with a romping 41-30 win over Saracens in Round 14, sealing their place at the top of the table going into the European break. Saints also faced the DHL Stormers and Sale Sharks in exhibition clashes, as well as Bristol Bears in the Premiership.

With those clashes in mind, Saints’ coaches have selected five nominees for the monthly gong; Trevor Davison, Emmanuel Iyogun, Curtis Langdon, Ollie Sleightholme and Fin Smith

Tighthead prop Davison was on formidable form in March, impressing with a superb pick-up and carry in Saints’ exhibition clash with Stormers, before making some 25 tackles across the side’s two Premiership outings and hitting 39 attacking rucks in those matches.

Iyogun also impressed in Saints’ front row, featuring in all four of games in March – while helping Northampton’s pack keep their 100% scrum record against Saracens.

Hooker Langdon completes the front row of nominees this month, also featuring in Northampton’s four matches across March. The 26-year-old – who claimed the Player of the Match medal in last week’s Investec Champions Cup Round of 16 match against Munster – came off the bench against Bristol before starting against Saracens to make 14 carries and 14 tackles in that match.

Sleightholme continued his try-scoring streak throughout March, scoring three tries in Saints’ two Premiership outings – putting his record to 10 scores in the league so far this season – and beating 10 defenders and making 149 metres in those two matches.

Meanwhile, Smith produced a Player-of-the-Match performance against Saracens, after masterminding Northampton’s victory at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens and scoring 16 points from the tee in that match alone.
