ROLE LEVEL: Employee
DURATION: Fixed Term Contract (for 10 Months)
LOCATION: cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens
REPORTS TO: Head Grounds Person
SALARY: £23,333 (will be pro rata for 10 months) (dependant on experience)
PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Head Grounds Person you will be responsible for the efficient delivery of grounds maintenance associated services and processes that support all operational aspects of the business, setting and ensuring the highest standards of safety, landscaping and grounds maintenance for our cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens stadium site and training facility. This role will be based outside, and work will be undertaken in all weathers.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To deliver high quality grounds maintenance services, in line with Northampton Saints RFC policies, legislation, compliance, training and industry best practice.
- Be proficient in the use, application and maintenance of specialist grounds care equipment and operations including pedestrian and ride on mowers, tractor mounted implements and other associated tasks i.e. playing surface, aeration, line marking, spraying, divoting, fertilising, brushing, top dressing, seeding, weeding, watering and general maintenance, renovation and repair of all grass, planted and landscaped areas.
- To be responsible for ensuring all health & safety requirements are met for each individual task ensuring correct usage of PPE, machinery pre-start checks and following detailed instructions outlined in the departments safe systems of work procedures.
- To work closely with the coaching team and senior stakeholders in order to provide the safest and most suitable environment for the end users of grounds facilities.
- To ensure necessary action is taken where inclement weather or other factors are predicted to ensure that all games and training can go ahead.
- To ensure excellent housekeeping across all work areas ensuring they are kept safe, clean, tidy and secure at all times.
- To uphold extremely high standards of customer care and service when dealing with on site visitors and general members of the public.
- Set and maintain high standards of work performance and deliver quality consistently, ensuring exemplary grounds maintenance services befitting of the high-profile venue, level of sport and national and international media exposure.
- Help plan to achieve around fixed deadlines, providing effective communication and problem-solving skills to ensure priorities are met and any issues are reported or resolved to a successful conclusion.
- Undertake any other duties as designated by your line manager to ensure the smooth running of all operational aspects of the business.
