Created back in 2012, Northampton Saints’ hugely popular age-group 7s Series sees schools across Northamptonshire and beyond go head to head in the shorter form of the game throughout the spring tournament.

Thousands of students from hundreds of schools take part in regional tournaments across eight venues each season – with the boys Under-13s and Under-18s regional festivals coupled with two girls-only tournaments for Under-15s and Under-18s.

The tournament not only focuses on providing a competitive environment for schools to compete in but also emphasizes the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork. 

Aiming to make rugby more accessible to all across the region, Northampton Saints 7s Series is open to any school across the country to enter and saw matches played across Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Suffolk. Northampton Saints are committed to making rugby accessible to everyone, and the 7s Festival is just one of the many initiatives they have taken to achieve this goal. 

The Series culminates with the winners and runners-up from each county festival competing for the Trophy, Bowl and Plate at Finals Day.

Hopes are now high that next year’s edition can prove to be even bigger and better, with the dates for the 2026 Series now locked in.

To support the sustainability of the programme, there is a small charge for entry to the festivals. This is a one-off charge and covers your school’s entry to all age groups, invoiced in the month prior to the first festival date. It will also grant your staff a voucher for tea and coffee on the day of the event.

The entry fee for this season’s Northampton Saints 7s Series is £100 + VAT.
