Northampton Saints Open Day: All You Need To Know

With 4,000 supporters set to attend the Club’s Open Day on Thursday afternoon, Northampton Saints are excited to welcome everyone through our doors for a behind-the-scenes look around cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens!

Saints fans will have the chance to take a look behind the curtain, meet the playing squad and coaches, as well as taking part in a host of unique and exciting activities around the stadium.

Ahead of the event, here’s a quick round-up of what to expect:

ENTRY

  • The Open Day will run between 1pm and 4pm. Entry times are 1pm and 2pm only.
  • Supporters who applied to attend the Open Day will have received an email and ticket from the Club for the event on Monday (19 Feb). Within this email is confirmation of your party size and entry time, the Club requests that supporters stick strictly to your designated entry time and party size with 4,000 supporters set to attend. 
  • Please present your confirmation email to staff at the gate when you arrive at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens. Our staff will be on hand with a guest list too and will help check you and your party in on the day. 
  • Please ensure that you arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your confirmed time slot.
  • All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • With the event at full capacity, those without a ticket or email confirmation will not be allowed to enter.

PARKING

  • Free, unreserved parking is available in Car Park D (Edgar Mobbs Way, NN5 5JT). Blue badge holders who haven’t already registered for a parking space, will be able to access a limited number of accessible parking bays in Car Parks B & C (accessed via Ross Road, NN5 5AX) on a first come, first serve basis.
  • If arriving on foot, please approach the ground via Abbey Street entrance. 
  • A limited number of bike rack spaces are also available in Car Park A, please enter via Abbey Street if you are cycling to the stadium. 

WEATHER

  • All activities are either indoors or under cover, but some queues around the ground will be exposed to the elements, so please wrap up warm and bring waterproofs and other appropriate clothing in case required.
  • Having analysed Thursday’s weather forecast, the Club is confident the event can still go ahead as planned – but should conditions change on Thursday morning forcing us to make any change to the day, we will contact all attendees directly via email.

ACTIVITIES

  • Upon entering the Gardens, you will be issued with a map which will show all of the areas within the stadium you can visit, and what is happening in each area.
  • There are a host of unique and exciting activities happening around the stadium for supporters to take part in alongside Saints’ players – including tours of the changing rooms, autograph stations, photos with the Club’s trophies, a conversion challenge, a fitness test in the gym, an analysis session with the coaches, conducting interviews with Saints players in the press room, testing out the stadium’s PA system, an indoor bouncy castle, and plenty more.
  • Please note, in order to enter the High Performance Centre, supporters must be wearing clean trainers or clean rugby boots with rounded studs (no blades). Any other footwear (e.g high heels) will prevent access to the playing surface. In the event of wet weather, supporters will be issued with shoe covers on entry. 
  • The stadium pitch is closed for the event; at no stage are any supporters to walk on the playing surface, or you may be asked to leave the Open Day.
  • The event will end at 4pm, so please allow plenty of time to visit all activities as there may be queues at some stations.
  • Don't forget to bring cameras for selfies with the players and pens to collect autographs!

SAINTS STORE & TICKET OFFICE

  • Both the Main Saints Store and Ticket Office windows will be open during the Open Day. 
  • Access to these will be available to those attending the Open Day via Gate 1, after you have entered the stadium via the Supporter Village. Stewards will be on hand to direct you and will manage exit and re-entry into the stadium.
  • Both the Store and Ticket Office will be open as normal to supporters not wishing to attend the Open Day, with parking available in VIP Car Park for those supporters only. 

FOOD & DRINK

  • Food and drink will be available to purchase within the Supporter Village and Members Bar – please note however that we are a cashless venue.

SMOKING

  • cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens is a NO SMOKING stadium. Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes is not permitted anywhere in the stadium or Supporter Village pre, during or post-match. 
  • Supporters wishing to smoke will be allowed to exit the stadium via Gates 1 only – stewards will be on hand to direct you and will manage exit and re-entry into the stadium.

PLEASE NOTE: the Club has capped attendees at 4,000 in order to ensure the Open Day can be delivered safely for all supporters, and to try to limit queuing at the activity stations around the ground – following the supporter feedback from last year’s event. We understand that some supporters will have missed out on the opportunity to attend Thursday’s event and so the Club intends to host another Open Day event during the summer months of 2024.
