Northampton Saints vs Exeter Chiefs

Slade sends it to the corner again.

Chiefs maul forwards but Saints hold them and White is forces to use it. They have an advantage coming for a high tackle though and play on before we come back for it.

And penalty Chiefs at the scrum, Stade sends it to the corner.

Wood flies out fo the line to push Chiefs further back and they're struggling to break through on halfway. And there Naiyaravoro is deemed to have knocked on. Scrum Chiefs. 

Saints defending hard again and slow Chiefs' progress well. But the away side keep coming as the clock shows just two minutes left. 

Wood is up for the lineout and Saints maul forwards before Reinach boxes. It goes high and Chiefs just get there first. They play on.

Penalty Saints at the scrum as Chiefs push early! And Biggar sends it into touch for a lineout near halfway. 

Blood substitution for Saints as Fish leaves the field to be seen to. Marshall takes his place. 

Chiefs come wide but knock on again and Saints will have the scrum inside their own 22. 

Scrappy at the lineout as Lawes disturbs but Chiefs keep the ball. They work their way into Saints' 22 and keep pushing.

Penalty Exeter at the scrum and Steenson sends it into the corner.

Cowan Dickie returns from the sin bin and Dollman joins him in the game as Taione takes his leave again.

Saints defend for their lives again and earn the rewards as Chiefs knock on in contact. Scrum Saints inside Exeter's half.

But Chiefs steal the scrum and play on.

Harrison plays the ball quickly and Naiyaravoro charges down the right. His offload hits a Chiefs hand though and rolls into touch. Lineout Saints.

Lawday replaces Lonsdale for Chiefs as we set the scrum.

Saints play on from the lineout and earn a scrum just after as Chiefs fail to roll away at the breakdown.

Wood is up for the lineout and Saints maul forwards before Reinach boxes. Naiyaravoro chases and forces Cordero to knock on under the high ball. The ball rolls into touch so Saints will have the lineout on halfway.

Chiefs maul forwards but Tempest awards Saints a penalty as the away side hold onto the ball as it comes to ground. Biggar sends it to touch for a lineout.

Solid scrum from Saints and Kvesic is forced to use it. But Saints infringe at the next breakdown and Stade sends the ball into the corner.

Taione returns to the field so we can have the scrum, Simmonds takes his place on the bench.

Chiefs keep pushing and make steady progress in Saints' line. But as the ball comes wide Naiyaravoro gets a hand in and disrupts play but the wing is deemed to have knocked on. Scrum Chiefs.

Short from Chiefs at the restart and Cordero is there. They push their way into Saints' 22 but Wood takes them down. 

Biggar points to the posts with the resulting penalty.

But we pause play as we head to the TMO for a tip tackle on Lawes...

Saints are up to the five metre now...

Tuala dummies to get Saints up to the 22 and Saints are still pushing hard. 

Wood is up for the lineout and Saints maul forwards before the ball comes out. Collins grabs a few yards before Ribbans does the same. 

White boxes off the back of the lineout and Saints will have the throw this time.

Marshall is replaced by Fish as we set the lineout.

Harrison scoops up the ball at the base again and the ball quickly finds Tuala out wide. Lawes barges through the middle and Reinach spots space in behind and sends a grubber through. Lineout Chiefs back in their own 22. 

Naiyaravoro is there for the restart and Saints push their way out of their own 22. Reinach clears and Simmonds is there but a huge hit from Biggar forces the knock on from the Chiefs' fullback. Scrum Saints.

Interception from Reinach and the scrum-half races in under the posts!! But we're with the TMO to see if he's offside at the lineout...

Harrison uses the ball quickly and Saints push forwards. Reinach boxes as the ball slows and Chiefs will have the lineout but back near halfway.

Chiefs use the ball quickly at the lineout but they knock on as they begin to move forwards and Saints will have the scrum.

White and Stade enter play for Chiefs, with Maunder and Devoto taking to the bench. 

Wood and Brüssow replace Ludlam and Gibson respectively.

Hepburn and Francis enter play as we set the scrum, with Moon and Williams making way.

But Chiefs knock on at the lineout and Saints will have the scrum.

Saints make good progress off the lineout but Chiefs somehow get hold of the ball and kick it clear. Gibson is there and he finds Dingwall but the centre is pushed into touch. Lineout Chiefs.

Van Wyk and Franks replace Waller and Hill as we get set.

Chiefs push in Saints' 22 but Saints defend strongly and earn the penalty at the breakdown at last. Biggar sends it to touch for a lineout on halfway.

Cordero breaks down the right as the ball comes out for the scrum quickly but Reinach and Gibson scramble back. Steenson sends a cross field over but it goes straight out and Saints will have the lineout just outside their own 22. 

Saints pressure well at the restart and Maunder boxes. Dingwall is there and Saints play on. Tuala breaks through but he's isolated and his offload comes off Naiyaravoro's fingertips. Scrum Chiefs just inside Saints' half. 

Waller returns from the sin bin as we restart, with Van Wyk returning to the bench.

Chiefs are up to the line and Moon thinks he's over but we're with the TMO to see if he is...

A huge hit from Ribbans slows things further and Steenson chips the ball clear. Tuala is there and he comes forwards. But Chiefs manage to get over the ball at the breakdown just after and Tempest awards Chiefs the penalty. Steenson sends the ball into the corner.

Saints just manage to knock the ball in on contact and Chiefs play on. But the advantage is soon over and Chiefs are still in their own half. 

Chiefs make some progress but good pressure from Saints pushes them back into their own half.

Lawes is there for the restart and he pushes forwards. Reinach fishes the ball out of the breakdown and boxes clear. Simmonds is there and Exeter play on.

After a frantic start to the game - we're back on here at Franklin's Garden!

Solid at the scrum from Saints and Chiefs are forced to use it again. The ball comes out to Cordero but he slips and Tuala is over him. They come back the other way but Burrell and Ludlam team up in the midfield to slow things.

No try says the TMO and Chiefs will have the scrum once again.

Better at the scrum from Saints and Maunder is forced to use it. Devoto thinks he's over but we're with the TMO to see if he's got the ball down...

So we can set the scrum Van Wyk enters play, Naiayarvoro makes space for him.

Chiefs get over the line but they're held up and we come back to the five metre for the scrum.

Saints - now with 14 men - defend for their lives as Chiefs come forwards up to the five metre line.

Steenson sends the ball to the corner and they manage to keep it despite good pressure in the air from Lawes.

Somehow Exeter get up for the restart and play on. They come wide quickly but Collins is there. The ball comes back inside and though Harrison steals the ball his pass to Reinach is deemed forwards. Scrum Chiefs.

Free kick Saints at the scrum as Exeter go early. Reinach takes it quickly but Exeter are awarded the scrum by Tempest as he deems the ball unplayable.

Exeter get up for the restart and they push forwards but knock on at the breakdown and Saints have the scrum inside Chiefs' 22.

After a few re-sets the advantage comes Exeter's way once again. They whip the ball wide and start pushing.

Penalty Exeter as the away side get a shove on. They choose to scrum.

Chiefs look to maul but Saints hold them well and earn the scrum.

Penalty Chiefs at the scrum and Steenson sends it long into touch. Lineout Chiefs in Saints' 22.

Gibson is up for the lineout and Naiyaravoro barges through the middle. Harrison makes some yards before Tuala does the same. But as the ball comes back inside it's knocked on. Scrum Chiefs.

Cordero is there for the restart and he clears. Lineout Saints.

Scrum Exeter again then.

Advantage coming to Chiefs at the scrum and though Saints apply good pressure as the ball comes out we come back for it. 

Penalty Exeter as Saints are penalised for a no arms tackle. Chiefs opt for the scrum.

The ball comes out this time and Exeter are within inches here.

Eventually we come back for that penalty and Steenson sends to the corner once again.

Exeter maul forwards and have the advantage coming again.

Advatange coming at the scrum for the away side again and eventually we come back for it. Steenson sends it to the corner.

Saints look to have got the ball again but referee Ian Tempest deems them to have knocked on in the process. Scrum Exeter then.

Saints steal the lineout and Biggar clears but pressure from Chiefs doesn't get them far. Lineout Exeter.

Advantage coming at the scrum and Exeter play on. Saints seem to have secured an interception but we come back for the penalty and Steenson sends it to the corner.

Free kick goes Exeter's way this time and they opt to scrum again.

Not straight from Chiefs at the lineout and Saints will have the scrum. 

Crazy rugby as Lawes has the ball ripped from him by O'Flaherty with the wing getting up to Saints' 22 before sending the ball inside. But it's Burrell who's hands it lands in and Biggar clears. Lineout Exeter.

Collins dashes forwards but is brought up just short. Saints keep pushing though...

Saints sends the penalty into the air but it doesn't reach touch. Exeter play on but the home side earn an important turnover and Harrison breaks through. They're up to the five metre now and pushing with a capacity crowd behind them...

Francis is helped from the pitch by medics and Dingwall takes his place. Speedy recovery to the try scorer!

Maunder boxes high and Ribbans knocks the ball back to Biggar but the fly-half's offload to Naiyaravoro comes forwards. Exeter collect the loose ball and play on.

Free kick Saints at the scrum too and Biggar sends it skyward. Gibson is in chase but the bounce doesn't go his way and Exeter play on.

Exeter get up for the restart but Williams knocks the ball on and Saints will have the scrum. 

Biggar clears and Simmonds returns. Saints come forwards.
