Northampton Saints vs Benetton Rugby

Time's up here but still Saints push on. Reinach breaks through with Harrison on his shoulder and the home side are up to Benetton's 22 now.

Ludlam charges forwards to get Saints out of their own 22 off the restart and the ball comes wide to Naiyaravoro. Coles breaks free  to get play up to halfway and Saints keep coming.

Naiyaravoro and Eadie get Saints close and the home side have an advantage coming if they need it...

Strong scrum from Saints and Reinach is brilliant in defence off the back of it to force Benetton to dot the ball down over the line. Scrum Saints.

Final change for Saints: Ratuniyarawa is replaced by Moon as we set the scrum. 

Saints get up to the five metre line but there's a knock on on the ground and Benetton will have the scrum. 

There's no stopping Naiyaravoro down the left as he sits down four or five defenders on his way into Benetton's 22. And the ball comes wide the other way once he's taken down. Saints continue to push. 

Ludlam takes the restart and Saints push forwards before Reinach boxes clear. Hayward is there and Benetton play on. But they knock on and Saints play on themselves.

No try says the TMO but we restart with a penalty to Saints as Benetton are caught offside. Saints choose the scrum.

Naiyaravoro thinks he's over in the corner but we're with TMO to see if there's been a knock on in the build up...

Symons charges loose off the back of the scrum and Saints are within inches now.

Reinach slips through and gets Saints into Benetton's 22, Sleightholme pushes further and Saints come close but we come back for a penalty in the build up. Saints choose the scrum. 

Coles take the lineout and Saints push forwards again.

Scrappy at the lineout again and this one comes loose. Benetton dive on it and play on.

The Franks brothers enter the game as we set the lineout, replacing Van Wyk and Hill.

Benetton look to push but Saints defend well and push them into touch. Lineout Saints. 

Reinach boxes the restart and Hayward just wins the battle in the air. Benetton play on.

Ludlam is up for the lineout and Saints push forwards.

Allan slices the kick though and Saints have the 22 drop once more.

A trio of changes for Saints: Fish, Reinach and Symons replace Matavesi, Taylor and Mallinder as we get restarted. 

Benetton get close to the line but the TMO intervenes as they are found to have caught Van Wyk round the neck. Penalty Saints and Grayson sends it to touch. 

Allan clears the restart and Mallinder is there. Naiyaravoro is up and running but Saints knock on just after and Benetton play on.

Grayson's kick heads straight out though and we come back for a Benetton scrum. 

Hutchinson tries to find Eadie in the midfield but the ball comes forwards off the replacement back row. Benetton clear but the ball goes dead and Saints will have the 22 drop out.

Grayson sends the restart over to Naiyaravoro and Saints push forwards again. Harrison charges forwards before Taylor boxes high. Allan is there but Sleigthholme gets over the ball and earns Saints the penalty. Grayson sends it to the corner. 

Ludlam is nearly through but Hutchinson and Dingwall get Saints close. And Taylor thinks he's over but we're with the TMO to see if there's been a knock-on in the build up...

Naiyaravoro charges up out wide to get Saints closer and still Saints push.

Change for Saints at the break: Eadie replaces Lawes as we restart. 

Grayson gets us restarted here at the Gardens!

Penalty Benetton at the maul as Saints are pinged for collapsing it. Allan sends the ball to touch as the clock enters the red here. Lineout Benetton on Saints' 22. 

Coles is up for this lineout but Saints lose the ball forwards just after. Benetton play on before Trussardi chips over the top. The ball just comes off Saints hands into touch though and Benetton will have this lineout.

Grayson sends the ball to the corner but the lineout is lost and Allan clears. Lineout Saints again but outside Benetton's 22. 

Benetton steal the lineout and play on before Hayward clears. Sleightholme does well to take the high ball and sends a brilliant kick through. Hayward gets back but Sleightholme is on his straight away. The winger gets over the ball and earns Saints the penalty. 

Taylor spots space in behind and dinks the ball through. Hayward comes back to collect and clears to touch. Lineout Saints. 

Benetton claim the restart and Allan clears. Mallinder is there again and he finds Naiyaravoro. Saints charge back over halfway and are still coming. 

Ludlam takes the lineout and Matavesi charges forwards off it. The ball comes loose and Hayward clears but Mallinder is there. 

Overthrow at the lineout from Saints though and Benetton clear. Lineout Saints on Benetton's 22.

Sleightholme hacks through and nearly collects but Allan just gets there. The ball goes high again and Naiyaravoro is there. Saints keep pushing but we come back for a penalty advantage that was being played. Grayson sends it to the corner.

Benetton use the ball quickly from the scrum. Sgarbi hacks it through but Naiyaravoro is there. He charges forwards and Saints play on again.

Change for Saints: Ribbans is replaced by Coles as we set the scrum.

Grayson spots space in behind but Allan is there. He returns and Saints play on again.

Hutchinson finds Dingwall off the back of the scrum but he's enveloped by Benetton shirts quickly. And Saints knock on just after, Benetton play on before clearing. Lineout Saints.

Allan looks to clear off the back of the scrum but Dingwall charges his kick down. The loose ball comes off Benetton hands though and Saints will have the scrum. 

Free kick Saints and Taylor takes it quickly. Hutchinson breaks before a through the legs pass from Mallinder see the ball to Naiyaravoro out wide. He barges his way over the line but we come back for a forward pass in the build up. Scrum Benetton.

No conversion from Grayson out wide but Naiyaravoro is off from the restart and Saints push out of their 22 quickly. Grayson sends it high and though Allan is there, Dingwall puts in a huge hit to halt him. Benetton keep the ball though and play on.
