Having joined Saints ahead of the 2022/23 season, Australian loose forward Angus Scott-Young has become a ‘Mr Reliable’ for Director of Rugby Phil Dowson – and was the Club’s highest appearance maker in the 2024/25 campaign, with 28 outings across three competitions.
During the same campaign, Scott-Young captained a youthful Saints throughout their final Premiership Rugby Cup pool rounds and his contribution to the cause was recognised by the Club’s supporters who voted him as their cinch Player of the Month for February (2025).
A keen photographer and artist away from the pitch, Scott-Young has launched his own ‘SAINT GUSTAF’ brand and designed the t-shirts worn by Saints’ players, staff and supporters following the 2023/24 Gallagher Premiership title win.
Prior to becoming Saint #2057 when he made his debut against Sale Sharks in September 2022, the 6’4” player made over 70 appearances for Queensland Reds, winning the Super Rugby AU competition in 2021, as well as earning a further 30 caps for Queensland Country in Australia’s National Rugby Championship. He also turned out for Bay of Plenty Steamers in New Zealand’s National Provincial Championship back in 2021.
Scott-Young represented Australia Under-20s at the Junior World Championships in 2016 and 2017, and is also English-qualified.
