Kathryn Treder, Keia Mae Sagapolu, Tahlia Brody, Alev Kelter and Bulou Mataitoga have all been named in the starting USA Eagles squad to face Fiji at a sold-out Audi Field in Washington D.C on Sunday (20 July, kick-off: 12.05am BST)
The match comes off the back of all five players having been named in the official World Cup squad for the tournament later this summer.
It is a third World Cup for Kelter and a second for Treder and Mataitoga respectively, but it will be a first for both Sagapolu Sanele and Brody.
The USA Women’s Eagles will kick off their Rugby World Cup campaign with a highly-anticipated clash against host nation England in the tournament’s opening match, where Lightning’s contingent of Eagles will face off against some of their Loughborough teammates in the Red Roses squad.
"Fiji are an exciting team that plays with unpredictability and physicality,” said USA Head Coach Sione Fukofuka.
“They have a game style that centres around their scrum and a strong forward pack who like to be direct. We are excited to take this challenge on and show our strengths within our pack and unleash our backline."
"We have come into camp with a clear understanding of what we needed to improve from our previous performances and have worked hard to make those changes."
