Five Loughborough Lightning players in Scotland squad for Guinness Women’s Six Nations opener

Five Loughborough Lightning players have been named in Scotland’s matchday squad for their Guinness Women’s Six Nations opener against Wales this weekend.

Lightning skipper Rachel Malcolm will captain her country from blindside flanker on the occasion of her 43rd international cap at Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday (kick-off: 4.45pm).

She will be joined in the forwards by lock Emma Wassell as she moves to cap number 65 and tighthead prop Christine Belisle, who makes her 31st appearance for Scotland.

Helen Nelson is selected at fly-half and is named as vice-captain on her 56th Scotland outing.

Chloe Rollie has recovered from the injury that ruled her out of Lightning’s last four games to take her place among the replacements and will earn her 62nd international cap if she enters proceedings. The full-back’s next Scotland try will also see her move to a century of international points.

Wales versus Scotland is live on BBC 2 and on the iPlayer.
