Digital Marketing Manager (Maternity Cover)

ROLE LEVEL: Manager (Maternity Cover)
DURATION: 13 month fixed-term contract (minimum)
LOCATION: cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens, Northampton (flexible working options available)
HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week. Full-time, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Matchdays may be required on occasion
REPORTS TO: Head of Marketing
SALARY: £40,000-£45,000 (dependant on experience)

PURPOSE:
Join one of Europe’s leading professional rugby clubs as our Digital Marketing Manager on a fixed-term contract (maternity cover). Based at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens in Northampton, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving revenue, engagement, and brand awareness through digital strategies and content planning. You will focus on maximising revenue and engagement through digital marketing, alongside strategic planning, content development, and cross-functional collaboration with other commercial departments within the organisation.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Analytics

  • Use data insights to drive ticketing, retail and membership revenue, and grow supporter engagement
  • Optimise digital journeys across web, app, email and ticketing platforms
  • Monitor KPIs and campaign ROI, reporting actionable strategic insights to the wider marketing and communications team
  • Drive adoption of tools that create a single customer view and inform personalisation

Paid Marketing

  • Plan, deliver, and optimise paid campaigns across Meta, Google, TikTok, and other platforms
  • Manage budgets effectively with the Head of Marketing to deliver agreed revenue and engagement targets
  • Continuously test and refine campaigns to deliver positive ROI

Content Planning & Management

  • Lead cross-functional planning meetings to ensure all marketing strategy supports Club priorities
  • Manage internal content requests and content calendars (ensuring campaigns are timely, integrated, and consistent)
  • Facilitate creative thinking within the marketing team and support the execution of content plans and innovative campaigns

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years’ of experience in digital marketing – ideally in sport, entertainment, or consumer-facing industries
  • Proven track record of delivering revenue growth through paid social, PPC, and digital acquisition campaigns (including Meta, Google, and Tiktok)
  • Experience in data-driven revenue generation, and ROI analysis
  • Strong data and analytics skills, with experience in Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Meta Business Suite
  • Experience leading marketing planning sessions and aligning multiple stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience in leadership, including managing and developing a team
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current with emerging digital marketing and data analytics trends, applying new tools and techniques to enhance performance
