Aiden Ainsworth-Cave initially joined Saints’ Academy at Under-14 level and signed on for Northampton’s Senior Academy ahead of the 2024/25 season. 

The loose forward played for Bedford School and Bedford Junior Blues, and – after a year out of action through injury – returned to Under-18s action for Saints at the close of the 2023/24 season, playing in Northampton’s final PREM Rugby Academy League game at home to Newcastle Falcons and then in the Final.

A first senior outing in Black, Green and Gold came in the PREM Rugby Cup group stage fixture against Harlequins in November 2025.

Ainsworth-Cave has also experienced international honours, having represented England Under-18s in the 2024 Six Nations Festival and more recently England Under-20s at the 2025 World Rugby U20 Championship, captaining the side in their 3rd place playoff against New Zealand.
