Northampton Saints vs Bath Rugby

Saints had the advantage coming and we eventually come back for it.

Wood picks up from the scrum and Saints are within inches again.

Wood takes the lineout and Saints look to maul but it's taken down. Scrum Saints. 

Penalty Saints at the breakdown and Grayson sends it to the corner. 

Bath steal the lineout but Gibson charges the box and collects the loose ball. Saints play on.

But Bath somehow get hold of the ball and they box clear. But the kick goes straight out and Saints have the lineout just outside Bath's 22. 

Saints are attacking hard now but Bath are holding them well. Moon charges forwards before Pisi has a go. Saints are slowly working up to the 22 now.

Saints pressure well from the restart and Bath clear. Furbank is there and Saints come forwards again. 

Penalty Bath at the breakdown and Priestland points to the posts again.

Overthrow at the lineout from Saints though and Bath play on. 

Burns clears the restart and Grayson is there. He returns it before Burns does the same. The latter's kick finds touch though and Saints will have the lineout on halfway.

Solid at the scrum from Saints but Bath play on. Joseph breaks and it nearly through but a tap tackle from Mitchell stops him. Bath play on though and have the advtange. And when Burns' offload finds Pisi's hands, we come back for it. Priestland points to the posts. 

Ratuniyarawa is replaces by Moon as we set the scrum.

The scrum comes down but we play on. Scrappy from Bath in clearing the ball but they earn another scrum as Saints are deemed to have knocked on. 

Saints work hard and earn a turnover but knock on just after and we'll have the scrum. 

Scrappy ball at the restart and Bath just get there. 

Gibson is up for the lineout and Saints play on fiercely. Pisi makes some ground before Saints go back the other way. Furbank and Gibson team up to get the ball into Bath's 22 before Wood has a go. Saints are close now.

Bath clear the restart and Saints have the lineout near halfway.

Franks and Pisi enter play, with Hill and Naiyaravoro.

Solid scrum from Saints but Bath play on. And Bath are awarded a penalty just after too after Saints are penalised for tackling without the ball. Priestland points to the posts. 

But Saints knock on and Bath will have the scrum. 

Priestland sends a cross field over but Mitchell gets there first. Saints come forwards again.

Ludlam takes the restart and Mitchell clears well. Burns takes the high ball and Bath play on. 

Penalty Saints at the scrum again and Grayson points for the posts. 

Fish and Van Wyk enter play as we set the scrum, with Marshall and Waller making way.

Wood is up for the lineout and Saints maul forwards but as it collapses, Bath hold the ball up and they will have the scrum. 

Penalty Saints at the scrum and Grayson clears long to touch. Lineout Saints in Bath's 22. 

Burrell breaks to get Saints into Bath's half but a few phases later Saints knock on and Bath have the scrum. 

Naiyaravoro collects Bath's clearing kick from the restart but Saints are penalised at the breakdown just after. Priestland clears but doesn't and touch and Naiyaravoro is there. He charges forwards and Saints are attacking around halfway again.

Gibson replaces Haskell as we restart.

But Bath break through and Chudley goes loose. They're up to the 22 now.

Mitchell clears the restart and Saints defend well on halfway as Bath come forwards. 

Tuala collects Bath's clearing kick from the restart and Saints play on. They're over halfway now.

Mitchell takes the restart and Saints play out of their 22. But as Wood steps in at nine his pass goes astray and Bath play on. Saints get over the ball but knock on there. Scrum Bath.

Priestland gets us restarted.

Haskell breaks through and bounces his way up to the Bath 22 but his offload finds Bath hands. Burns clears and Saints have the lineout. 

Mitchell collects the loose ball at the lineout and Saints are attacking again.

Francis depart for a HIA as he took a knock in the build up. Burrell replaces him.

Bath get close to the line but Saints turn over and Grayson clears well. Lineout Bath on halfway. 

Out of nowhere Ratuniyarawa breaks through and it back in Bath's half quickly. Saints come forwards but Bath turn the ball over. The ball comes wide but Wood takes Mercer down. Penalty Bath at the breakdown though as Ludlam is penalised for kicking the ball in the ruck. Priestland clears for a lineout back near Saints' 22. 

Bath are within inches now but Saints earn a penalty at the breakdown. Grayson clears to touch for a lineout. 

Bath maul from the lineout but Saints hold them well. Bath are forced to use the ball and slowly work their way forwards inside Saints' 22. 

Priestland clears the restart and Tuala is there. He feeds Grayson who sends the ball high but Bath collect and play on. Saints defend well though but are penalised at the breakdown. Preistland clears for a lineout in Saints' 22. 

But Bath turn the ball over and play on themselves. Vuna chips through into space and chases himself but Tuala gets to the ball and grounds it over the line. 22 drop Saints. 

Bath secure the ball at the scrum but knock on just after and Saints play on.

Saints make good progress but referee Ian Tempest stops the game for a HIA assessment on Luke Charteris. Ewels replaces him.

Bath secure the lineout and play on before Preistland clears. Furbank is there and he returns it. More aerial tennis ensues before Naiyaravoro decides that's enough of that and charges forwards. Tuala charges clears and Saints are back within Bath's half quickly.

There Saints' pressure earns them another turn over and Mitchell chips through. He chases his own kick but the ball just bounces into touch before he can reach it. Lineout Bath in their own 22. 

Eventually we get the scrum away and Bath use the ball quickly. But good defence from Saints holds them on the halfway line. 

Saints come wide the other way but knock on there and Bath play on with the advantage. Eventually we come back for it. Scrum Bath.

Scrappy at the lineout but Saints hold onto the ball. Saints make steady progress in Bath's line before Naiyaravoro takes play up to the Bath 22. 

Atkins - who took a knock in the last play - makes way, with Burns entering the game. 

But as Mitchell clears again, Bath charge the kick down. They play on for a time but Saints turn over again. Hutchinson charges down the right before it comes back the other way. Furbank chips through into space and Bath just get there first. Under pressure, Priestland clears and Saints will have the lineout just outside Bath's 22. 

Naiyaravoro takes the restart and pushes Saints out of their own 22 instantly. Mitchell boxes clear but has his kick charges down. Bath knock on after though and Saints play on. 

Penalty at the scrum goes Saints way this time and Grayson calls for the posts.

Bath knock on though and Saints play on with the advantage. Eventually we come back for it though and Saints will have the scrum.

Saints defend well and earn a turnover for their reward. Grayson boots it down field but Bath just get there first. They play on from their own 22.

Penalty Bath at the lineout and they go quickly. They're back in Saints' 22 again now.

Saints turn over once more though and Mitchell clears. Lineout Bath back near halfway.

But Bath turn over themselves and come forwards again.They make it up to Saints' 22 and are pushing. 

Bath come forwards from the lineout again but Saints get over the ball and turn it over. Saints play on.

Bath use the ball quickly from the lineout and earn a penalty there. Priestland sends it to touch again. 

Penalty Bath at the scrum after a few more resets. Priestland clears to touch for Bath lineout just outside their own 22. 

Free kick Saints at the scrum after a few resets. Saints take it quickly and get close but knock on. Scrum Bath.

No try says the TMO as he deems Ribbans to be held up. Scrum Saints. 

Solid scrum from Saints and they're attacking instantly. Francis gets close again before Ribbans thinks he's over. We're with the TMO to see if he is...

Saints secure the restart and are away instantly! Mitchell races close before Francis gets over the line. But he's held up and we come back for the scrum on the five metre.
