Northampton Saints vs Sale Sharks

It's the last play of the game as Furbank lines it up...

Penalty coming for Saints and eventually we come back for it. Furbank points to the posts. 

Coles is up for the lineout and Saints barge forwards. They're up to Sale's 22 and pushing.

Penalty coming for Saints at the scrum as Mitchell races forwards. Eventually we come back for the penalty though and Furbank puts it into the corner. 

Knock on Sale off the scrum and Saints will have the put in this time.

Coles is up for the lineout again and Mitchell comes forwards. Saints keep pushing but the ball comes loose as it goes wide and Sale will have the scrum. 

Coles is up for the lineout and Saints maul forwards, earning a penalty there too. Furbank puts the ball into touch for a lineout back in Sale's half. 

Scrappy at the lineout but Sale manage to hold onto it. They come wide but McGuigan is isolated and Saints get over the ball for the penalty. Furbank puts it into touch for a lineout. 

Mitchell clears from the scrum and Sale will have a lineout outside Saints' 22 now.

Sale knock on as the get the ball out of the maul though and Saints will have the scrum.

Overthrow at the lineout from Saints though and Sale hack downfield. Hutchinson is back there and he finds Sleightholme but he's penalised on the floor for holding on. MacGinty puts the penalty into the corner for a Sale lineout there. 

Saints barge forwards, slowly gaining ground but Sale manage to turn the ball over as they work close to the try line. De Klerk clears to touch and Saints will have a lineout on Sale's 22 now.

Penalty Saints as Skosan is hit high out wide. Furbank puts it into the corner and Saints will have the lineout there.

And Saints earn a penalty at the lineout though and Furbank puts it into the corner. 

Sale send the ball high off the lineout but Furbank is hit high as the ball comes down. He sends the resulting penalty into touch for a lineout near halfway. 

Haywood replaces Wilkins as we set the lineout. 

Sale knock the ball on from the scrum and Saints hack through into space. Sale manage to gather but good pressure from Saints forces De Klerk to send it high. Saints play on before Mitchell clears to touch. Lineout Sale on halfway. 

Matavesi turns the ball over from the restart and Saints play on but they knock the ball on in contact and Sale will have the put in at the scrum. 

Waller replaces Iyogun as we restart. 

Sale clear from the scrum and Saints play on. They build the phases before Mitchell boxes high. Sale play on.

Saints push up from the lineout but the ball comes forwards in contact there and Sale will have the put in at the scrum. 

Aerial tennis off the back of the lineout but Saints are penalised for a high tackle and MacGinty doesn't find touch with the penalty though and Sleightholme gather. Saints hack through and Sale try to return but James' kick heads straight out. Lineout Saints in Sale's half. 

Ribbans is up for the lineout but Saints lose control of the ball and Sale gather. De Klerk sends it high off the ruck and Saints will have the lineout just outside Sale's 22. 

Hill replaces Painter as we set the lineout. 

Good defence from Saints and Augustus gets over the ball to earn Saints a penalty. Furbank puts it into the corner.

Nansen is replaced by Ratuniyarawa as we set the lineout.

Saints hold firm at the maul but give a penalty away as it breaks up and MacGinty sends it to touch for a lineout on halfway. 

Penalty Sale at the scrum though and MacGinty puts the ball into touch. Lineout Sale.

Dingwall hacks the ball through as Saints progress forwards and Reed can't gather the bouncing ball. Scrum Saints.

Scrappy at the lineout but Saints keep it and push into Sale's 22 quickly. 

Huge shove from Saints at the scrum sees the penalty go Saints' way and Furbank puts it into touch for a lineout on Sale's 22. 

Straight out from Sale on the restart and Saints will have the scrum on halfway.

Coles is up for the lineout and Saints maul forwards. The ball comes out to Proctor and he pushes forwards out wide and Saints keep coming.

Saints push forwards from the lineout before Mitchell sends it high. Reed is there and he marks is before clearing to touch. Lineout Saints again.

Penalty Saints from the restart at they get over the ball and they're given a few extra metres by the referee as Sale disagree with the decision. Furbank puts it into touch for a lineout in Sale's half. 

MacGinty gets us restarted here at the Gardens!

Saints are penalised for not releasing as the ball comes down and James puts the ball into the corner.

Mitchell's clearing kick is charged down from the restart and Hutchinson dots down over the try line. Goal line drop out for Saints.

Saints come forwards with the maul before the ball comes out for Proctor. The centre bounces off several defenders to get Saints deep into Sale's 22 and the home side keep coming.

Saints come forwards at the lineout and though Sale turn the ball over, Augustus gets over the ball for a penalty. 

Nansen and then Iyogun barge Saints forwards before Mitchell chips over the top into space. Reed manages to get back for it and Quirke clears again. Lineout Saints back near halfway.

HIA for Harrison and he's replaced by Coles as we set the lineout. 

Scrappy at the lineout but Sale manage to keep it. Quirke sends the ball high and Hutchinson does the same but the wind hold the ball for Sale to gather. They push forwards again but knock the ball on in contact. Saints gather and Mitchell breaks free, charging forwards up the right but he's pushed into touch. Lineout Sale back in their own 22.

Du Preez clears off the back of the scrum and Hutchinson is back. He clears himself and finds touch beautifully for a Sale lineout back near their own 22. 

But the ball comes forwards and Sale will have the put in at the scrum. 

Over the top to Dingwall with the lineout and Saints push forwards again. 

Saints come forwards off the lineout, slowly gaining yards against Sale's defence but a chip over the top lands in Quirke's hands. He clears to touch a few phases later and Saints will have the lineout. 

Saints go long at the lineout and maul forwards, earning the advantage that eventually turns into a penalty. Furbank sends the ball to touch for a Saints lineout just outside Sale's 22 now.

Sale come forwards before James hacks through, Furbank is back but he's hit high as he gathers the ball. The fly half sends the resulting penalty to touch for a lineout.

Saints begin to push from the lineout but are penalised for crossing at the lineout. MacGinty finds touch with the resulting penalty and Sale will have the lineout on haflway. 

We restart here with a Saints scrum and a huge shove from Saints see the advantage going Saints' way as they play on. Augustus charges forwards and Saints keep coming before we eventually come back for the penalty at scrum time. Furbank puts it into the corner. 

We pause play while referee Tom Foley is seen to, he leaves the field and assistant referee Matthew Carley will take his place when we restart.

No conversion from MacGinty outside and Quirke finds touch with his boot from the restart. Lineout Saints back near halfway. 

Penalty coming for Sale at they push forwards from the back of the scrum. And still they come forwards.

Saints disrupt the lineout but Sale manage to keep the ball and Quirke slips through a tackle before hacking through. Mitchell chases but he is forced to dot the ball down over the try line. Scrum Sale on Saints' five metre line now.

Saints come forwards off the scrum but are penalised at the breakdown as they go off their feet. MacGinty sends it to touch for a lineout on halfway.

Solid at the scrum from Saints and they have a knock-on advantage coming as they play on. Eventually we come back for it and Saints will have the scrum. 

Furbank sends the ball high from the restart and Saints chase hard, Dingwall intercepting a stray pass from Sale. Saints push on with the advantage but knock the ball on themselves and we come back for the scrum. 

Saints get up quickly in defence from the restart and are rewarded as Sale are pinged for holding on. Furbank puts it into the corner for the lineout there.

Saints get Harrison up in the lineout quickly and play on. But Sale get a hand to a pass and push into Saints' half before Saints are deemed to have knocked on in the tackle. Scrum Sale. 

Sale find touch with the kick-off and Saints have the lineout in Sale's half now.
