Northampton Saints vs Newcastle Falcons

Overthrow at the lineout from Falcons and Brüssow cleans it up. Saints come forwards and Burrell breaks. But his offload is knocked on into touch. Falcons choose the scrum. 

Saints try to push out of their 22 but are penalised at the breakdown and Falcons go for the corner.

Ludlam is up for the restart and Saints play on. The ball comes wide to Furbank and Burrell before it comes back the other way. But Saints knock on and Falcons chip over and into touch. Lineout Saints in their own 22.

No conversion from Grayson but Saints play on with the last three minutes on the clock.

Ratuniyarawa is up for the lineout again. Saints maul...

Moon is up for the lineout and Saints maul forwards again. Mitchell whips it out to Hutchinson and Burrell charges forwards. Saints go wide and earn a penalty there. Grayson sends it to the corner. 

Penalty Saints at the breakdown! Grayson sends it long into touch for a lineout just outside Falcons' 22. 

Falcons keep coming but Saints hold them well. 

Sinoti look dangerous again and Falcons come forwards with an advantage coming. Eventually we come back for it. Connon sends it to touch. 

Moon and Collins enter play, with Ribbans and Tuala making way.

Hutchinson call for the ball and makes the most of it when it gets to him. Saints come the length of the pitch and start attacking in Falcons' 22.

Sinoti comes forwards down the left but Tuala stops him. Falcons chip over the top but Furbank is there. 

Saints clear the restart well and Falcons have the lineout near halfway.

Stuart replaces Takulua for Falcons as we restart.

Ratuniyarawa is up for the lineout and Saints maul again...

Wood is up for the lineout and Saints maul forwards. They have advantage coming and the ball comes wide to Tuala but we come back for the penalty. Grayson sends the ball into the corner.

Takulua clears at the next breakdown and Tuala is there. he comes forwards before Hutchinson chips over. Kibirige is there but Hutchinson is on him. Saints pressure and Falcons box clear. Lineout Saints just outside Falcons' 22. 

Brilliant scrum from Saints and the ball pops out of the back. Takulua has to work to get a hand to it and just gets there before Mitchell. Falcons play on.

Saints disrupt at the lineout but knock on there. Scrum Falcons.

Brüssow replaces Gibson as we get set.

Saints continue to push but are penalised at the breakdown. Falcons sends it to touch.

Ludlam is up for the lineout and Saints start to push on halfway. Furbank breaks, Tuala follows him and Saints move forwards. Ratuniyarawa breaks to get Saints into the Falcons' 22 again and Saints are pushing hard once more.

Takulua clears and it goes straight out. Lineout Saints back where the original Falcons one was. 

Saints clear strongly from the restart and Falcons have a lineout back in their own half.

Saints keep coming but good defence from Newcastle is pushing them back. The home side push on though and a break from Wood gets them back on the front foot.

Gibson steals the lineout and Saints are attacking again.

Sinoti enters play as we reset, with Arscott leaving the field.

Saints push around halfway and Ribbans charges forwards down the left but is pushed into touch and Falcons have the lineout.

Marshall, Hill and Waller - who comes on for his 250th Saints appearance - enter play, with Fish, Painter and Van Wyk making way.

No conversion from Connon keeps the scores all square. 

Falcons get the ball away quickly and look to press but Saints hold them well. The away side keep coming though.

Mitchell replaces Reinach as we get set.

No try says the TMO but we come back for an offside penalty in the build up. Falcons choose the scrum. 

And as Falcons look to come wide, Burrell puts a stop to that. But Goneva breaks and Falcons are back in Saints' 22 quickly. They think they're over but we're with the TMO.

Saints clear well from the restart and hold Falcons at halfway. 

Cooper and Uzokwe replace Socino and Negusa respectively for Falcons as we restart.

Falcons play on but chips over the top to Tuala. Saints play on.

But Saints are penalised for a forward pass and Falcons have the scrum. 

Saints press on from the lineout and Wood makes some yards before Hutchins and Reinach make it up to Falcons' 22.

Reinach takes the restart and clears well. Arscott is there and he tries to return but his kick goes straight out. Lineout Saints inside Falcons' half. 

No conversion from Grayson but Saints are back within a score!

Tuala and Gibson get Saints up the five metre and Saints keep pushing. They think they're over and we're with the TMO to see if they are...

Falcons are forced to clear under pressure from Saints and Furbank is there. He makes it up to the Falcons' 22 before Saints get to him. They keep pushing. 

Grayson gets us back underway here!

Straight out from Falcons on the restart and Saints have the scrum. 

Furbank breaks out of Saints' 22 and Hutchinson breaks to get up to the halfway line. Naiyarvoro comes forwards again and Saints suddenly find themselves in Falcons' 22. 

Harris replaces Matavesi as we restart.

Wood frees his arms to finds Lidlams and Saints are back in Falcons' half again. Tuala scampers down the wing and Saints are back in Falcons' 22. 

Gibson charges up the right but his offload to Tuala just comes forwards off the winger's fingers. Falcons play on and clear. Naiyaravoro breaks and Saints are back up to the Falcons' 22 once again.

Falcons return the restart and Furbank is there. Wood takes the space and Saints press on again. Gibson makes it over halfway before Furbank nearly breaks through the middle. Saints keep coming.

Falcons come wide from the scrum and Goneva chips through.

Tuala takes the restart and Saints are pushing out of their 22 again. Naiyaravoro bounces his way out of it before Saints push on some more. Ribbans barrels forwards but Saints are penalised for a forward pass and Falcons have the scrum. 

Saints get the ball out of the lineout quickly and Furbank is away. He makes it almost all the way up to the halfway line before he's taken down. Saints play on.

Arscott breaks through but knocks on after a huge hit from Grayson. Scrum Saints in their own 22.

Falcons switch loose heads; Brocklebank replaces Davison as we set the lineout.

Falcons play on and have an advantage coming from the lineout. Eventually we come back for it. Connon sends it downfield again.

But Falcons get a grip back on their defence and earn a penalty at the breakdown. Connon sends it to touch for a lineout.

Tuala gets them there eventually and Saints keep pushing.

Ribbans carries again and Saints are knocking on the door of the Falcons' 22 now. 

Saints turn the ball over though and come wide once more. Ribbans  charges forwards before Wood makes come more yards. Burrell breaks out wide and Saints are attacking well now.

Saints come forwards well. Grayson finds Tuala, who finds Furbank, who finds Naiyaravoro to get Saints up to halfway. But somehow Falcons get hold of the ball again.

Forward pass from Falcons and Saints have the scrum.

Davidson returns for Falcons, with Cavubati making way.

Penalty Falcons at the breakdown as Saints are penalised for not rolling and Connon sends it to the corner. 

Scrappy handling from Falcons slows their progress before a huge hit from Ribbans slows it further. They keep coming before Connon looks to clear, Wood charges him down but Falcons regather. 

Ludlam steals the lineout and Saints play on. Grayson clears but Arscott is there and he returns it. Ludlam is there again and this time Reinach clears. Lineout Falcons.

Connon clears from the back of the lineout and Tuala is there, he clears but his foot is just in touch as he does so. Lineout Falcons in Saints' 22. 

Falcons clear the restart once more and Ribbans does well to secure it. But Saints knock on in contact just after and Falcons have the scrum. 

Furbank gets up for the restart and Saints are pushing forwards. But Ratuniyarawa's pass to Burrell doesn't quite make it to him and Falcons clear. Furbank is there again though and Saints press on. But they're penalised for moving before the tackle is complete and Connon sends the penalty into touch for a lineout in Saints' 22. 

Wood gets the ball away quickly and Reinach clears. Lineout Newcastle. 

Knock on from Falcons though and Saints have the scrum. 

Free kick Falcons as Saints are penalised for pushing early. They use it quickly.

And Newcastle bring on Cavubati as Davidson leaves the field for blood.

Harrison is replaced by Wood as we set.

Falcon push around Saints' 22 but the home side hold in their defence. Kibirige does break through eventually though and Falcons are attacking again. Saints earn the turnover but knock the ball on into touch. Newcastle choose the scrum.

Scrappy at the lineout but Saints keep hold of the ball. Grayson looks to clear but is charges down. Falcons come forwards again.

Falcons clear the restart and Saints have the lineout on halfway.

Falcons look to charge through the middle before they come wide.

Tuala takes the kick-off and Saints look to come forwards out of their own 22. Reinach boxes clear and Falcons will have the lineout.
