Voting is now open for the Travis Perkins Player of the Month prize for February, with supporters able to vote for the Saint they believe made the biggest contribution on the pitch over the course of the month.
The competition will remain open for one week before the winning player is announced by Northampton Saints and Travis Perkins, with votes closing at midnight on 11 March.
Travis Perkins are also offering a special prize for those that vote for the award; one lucky supporter who votes for their Player of the Month will be selected at random and win a £50 voucher to spend in the Saints Store.
It was a successful month for Chris Boyd’s men, with the side climbing up to fifth in the Gallagher Premiership rankings thanks to impressive wins on the road against both Wasps and Exeter Chiefs.
And despite Saints’ clash with Newcastle Falcons falling foul of covid-enforced cancellation, the remaining three games – including a gut-wrenchingly narrow defeat to Bath last time out – provided a host of candidates for the award, with Northampton’s coaches narrowing the nominations down to Piers Francis, Sam Matavesi, Matt Proctor and David Ribbans.
Francis laced up his kicking boots this month to land 15 points from the tee in the last two outings alone, and hooker Matavesi also got himself on the scoresheet – claiming his first try in Black, Green and Gold in the victory over Wasps. Proctor lead the way in attack as he slipped past nine defenders in just two games; and in defence it was Ribbans who kept the door closed for Saints’ opposition, making 36 tackles across the three games while missing just one.
PLEASE NOTE: Only one vote per entrant will be counted.
