Voting is now open for the Travis Perkins Player of the Month prize for March, with supporters able to vote for the Saint they believe made the biggest contribution on the pitch over the course of the month.
The competition will remain open for one week before the winning player is announced by Northampton Saints and Travis Perkins, with voting closing at midnight on 15 April.
Travis Perkins are also offering a special prize for those that vote for the award; one lucky supporter who votes for their Player of the Month will be selected at random and win a £50 voucher to spend in the Saints Store.
Chris Boyd’s side kept themselves firmly in the chase for a top-four spot in the Gallagher Premiership in March, thanks to a hard-fought win over Sale Sharks on home soil before closing the month with a record-breaking victory at Worcester Warriors.
And while Saints also went down to frustrating losses against Harlequins and Bristol Bears, the side’s gutsy performances throughout the month produced a host of candidates for the award, with Northampton’s coaches this month naming five nominees – Teimana Harrison, Paul Hill, Tom James, Api Ratuniyarawa and Ollie Sleightholme.
Harrison returned from injury firing on all cylinders, racking up a huge 43 tackles in March despite only taking to the field in three of Saints’ four outings, while Hill continued his outstanding form in the scrum as well as adding a blistering break and chip chase to his tally at Sixways.
James opened March with a try at Quins before closing out the month with two assists against Worcester, and Ratuniyarawa also made a sizeable impact on Saints’ attack, making an impressive 32 carries across the month.
And Sleightholme’s four tries and 127 metres with ball in hand at Sixways alone more than earned the young winger his spot amongst the nominees.
PLEASE NOTE: Only one vote per entrant will be counted.
