Another two schools through to the Elite Insurance Sevens Finals Day

Last week another two Under-13s sides made it through to the Elite Insurance Sevens Series Finals Day at Franklin’s Gardens later this month.

The competition moved to it’s Oxfordshire leg on Wednesday last week and with nearly twenty schools competing and the competition’s first international side, in the form of Kenya IAS, taking part, there was a brilliant day of rugby over at Sibford School.

Becoming a part of Sibford’s week of sevens tournaments the Elite Insurance Sevens competition eventually ended with Cheltenham College and Bredon School making it through to the Finals Day.

This week saw the second Under-18s Elite Insurance Sevens competition take place at Olney RFC, this time with both public and private schools from across the East Midlands. This time eight schools took part in the older age group version of the tournament and as with the Eastern Counties tournament earlier this month, Moulton College claimed the top prize, Hills Road Sixth form College pushing them all the way in the final.

With just one more Elite Insurance Sevens Under-13s tournament to take place, after having been postponed earlier in the month due to waterlogged pitches, and two more schools to secure a Finals Day spot, it’s nearly time for the competition to culminate in Finals Day at the Gardens on April 20th.
