Craig: We’ll approach Welsh with right attitude

The side head for Kassam Stadium off the back of an excellent performance at Saracens in Round 8, but the second row forward is cautious of getting carried away as top visit bottom in the Aviva Premiership.

“It’s obviously great to go away to a place like Sarries and putting in a performance like we did is something you are going to remember,” Craig commented. “But this Sunday will be a different challenge.

“Leicester showed if you go there (London Welsh) and play loose you can come unstuck. We’ve been making sure that we’re focusing hard on our basics and ensuring we don’t try to throw the ball around too much.

“It might take time for us to break them down, but if we can go there and produce a similar performance to the Sarries game then hopefully we’ll get the win.”

Craig returned to the starting XV last weekend at Barnet after a few weeks out of action, but showed no signs of rust, terrorising Saracens’ lineout in an impressive outing. After suffering his fair share of injury woes, the 26 year old is getting somewhere close to where he wants to be.

“I’ve been pleased with my involvement so far this season and now I’m hoping to add more starts to those bench appearances,” he added. “I feel like I’m getting back to where I was before and playing some good stuff.

“Hopefully you’ll start to see more of an impact from me in the second half of the season.”
