Darts legends land at Franklin’s Gardens

Get ready for a World Darts blockbuster at the home of the Saints as 16-time champion of the world Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor takes on reigning PDC World Champion Gary ‘The Flying Scotsman’ Anderson on Tuesday November 8th!

Hosted in the Rodber Suite, as well as a showdown between the sport’s all-time and current top dogs, members of the Saints squad will step up to the oche for special pairs matches.

Taylor, undisputed as the greatest to ever pick up a set of darts, is eagerly anticipating the evening.

“I am really looking forward to coming to Franklin’s Gardens to play in the World Darts Blockbuster head-to-head against Gary Anderson,” he commented.

“Gary and I rarely get to play each other outside of the PDC tour - so this will be a terrific event and I'm sure the home of the Saints will create a cracking atmosphere.

“It will also be great fun to warm up earlier in the evening with some celebrity pairs matches featuring Saints players."

‘The Power’ dominated the sport throughout the 1990s and 2000s, claiming the world crown in 14 of 20 seasons. While a young new guard has swept through the sport in recent years, Taylor showed he can still cut it with the best, adding the 2010 and 2013 title to a haul that looks unlikely to ever be surpassed.

Anderson, meanwhile, is currently the man to beat having scooped back-to-back World Championships in the PDC. It was Taylor that he defeated to claim the first of those in 2015, a year in which he also rattled in a record number of 180s for the tournament – 64 in just six matches.

With this in mind, you can expect a proper night of darts, with the maximums flowing as freely as the beer – the first of which is included in the price of you ticket!
