Eng U20 vs France

Five Saints picked for England U20 clash with France

Five Northampton Saints players have been picked by England for their Round 5 fixture of the 2026 Under-20 Men’s Six Nations Championship against France.

England travel to the Stade Marcel-Deflandre, La Rochelle, to face Cedric Laborde’s side this Sunday (15  March, kick-off: 5.45pm), with three young Saints in their starting line-up.

James Pater is picked at fullback with Oliver Scola at loosehead prop and Aiden Ainsworth-Cave is in the second row. Prop Sonny Tonga’uiha is named amongst the replacements alongside scrum-half Jonny Weimann.

On the selection, Head Coach Andy Titterell said: “Our focus this week remains on delivering a performance that reflects the standards we’ve set ourselves, with real relentlessness and determination in everything we do.

“The players have taken strong ownership of their preparation and already built on a strong result in Italy. There’s been a great emphasis on supporting each other and staying connected as a group through to an exciting challenge in La Rochelle.

“It’s the final opportunity in this campaign, so we want them to enjoy the occasion and give the best possible account of themselves.”
