Foden: Saints seeking Saracens semi intensity

Travis PerkinsSponsored by Travis Perkins

The Saints finished second in the league table, a place ahead of the Tigers, and head into the game off the back of a 74-13 mauling of Wasps. The full back says that none of that matters now though heading into the final knockout throes of a huge campaign.

“We’ve worked hard for 22 games to put ourselves in this position, a home semi-final against the old foe and it should be a very good encounter,” he told the Saints podcast. “Hopefully it’s one we will come out on top in.

“Last week showed that we’ve got that cutting edge and the ability to cut teams apart when we click, but we’re under no illusions as to how tough it is going to be this weekend.

“They’re a quality side and have been in the last nine finals, so that’s the run we are faced with ending on Friday night. Last year we were faced with a similarly stern challenge though and went out with great intensity and won at Sarries. We had to prove a point and hopefully we can repeat that on Friday.”

The Saints podcast is a FREE download across all devices and available NOW at www.soundcloud.com/official-saints-rugby.

This week also includes semi-final preview chats with Jim Mallinder, Alex Corbisiero, Tom Wood, Phil Dowson and Stephen Myler.
