Northampton-based building products manufacturer Forterra has provided £20,000 to Northampton Saints’ Community and Foundation programmes, which focus on improving the lives of young people in the community.
The partnership will help fund Northampton Saints Foundation, which (in line with the values of the Club) uses the power of sport to inspire, support and educate young people in the community.
Forterra’s contribution will enable five students to receive help, time and investment from the Foundation – supporting them on their pathway to employment through the Foundation’s partnership scheme, ‘Sponsor a Student’.
The partnership will also support Saints’ inclusivity work in the community, which seeks to eliminate barriers to entry into the game by supporting disadvantaged groups and helping them to discover and participate in rugby.
Forterra’s support will enable the Community team to expand their work and engage more young people at schools and community groups across a wider region.
“We’re really grateful to Forterra for their support,” said Mark Darbon, Chief Executive of Northampton Saints and Trustee for Northampton Saints Foundation.
“This fantastic partnership will enable us to further the great work that we do across the Foundation and Community programmes to support disadvantaged and marginalised groups in our local community.”
Mark Darbon, Northampton Saints Chief Executive
Stephen Harrison, Chief Executive of Forterra, added: “We are very pleased to make this contribution to Northampton Saints’ Foundation and Community programmes.
“We’ve been very impressed by the work that Northampton Saints and its Foundation does to support young people in Northamptonshire, and it is something that we are proud to be a part of.”
