PREM Rugby have confirmed the schedule for the 2025/26 PREM Rugby Cup campaign, with Northampton Saints’ clashes in the competition today announced.
The men in Black, Green and Gold reached the quarter-finals of last term’s competition – where they were eventually defeated 43-26 by Ealing Trailfinders – and will embark on the new campaign with a trip to Saracens first up.
This season the competition takes on a fresh look, with the ten PREM Rugby teams split into two pools of five and featuring across ten rounds of matches – with each side having two bye weekends built into the schedule. Saints have been drawn into Pool B and will face Saracens, Harlequins, Newcastle Falcons and Leicester Tigers in the opening stages of the tournament.
The first two rounds of the PRC will this season precede the Gallagher PREM, before Round 3 to 5 take place during the Autumn International window. The Cup then breaks for the PREM and Investec Champions Cup throughout December and January, before the competition begins again in earnest during the Six Nations.
Saints’ 2025/26 Cup competition will start in Round 2 with a trip to the StoneX Stadium on Friday 19 September (kick-off: 7.30pm), with their first bye falling in Round 1 when Phil Dowson’s side will instead travel to Glasgow Warriors to feature in a preseason clash at Scotstoun Stadium.
Northampton will first take to cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens in the Cup in Round 3, with the visit of Harlequins (Saturday 1 November, kick-off: 5.30pm) and run out again at home in Round 4 as they welcome Newcastle Falcons on Saturday 15 November (kick-off: 5.30pm).
The men in Black, Green and Gold round out the second block of Cup matches with a Midlands Derby, travelling to Leicester Tigers on Saturday 22 November (kick-off: 3pm).
Saints then feature in the reverse fixtures after the New Year, hosting Tigers and Saracens at cinch Stadium while also travelling to Harlequins and Falcons.
After that the competition enters the play-off stage, with the top two finishers of each pool qualifying for the semi-final matches in the week of 7 March before the final takes place the following weekend.
