Toby Cousins, Archie McParland, Henry Pollock and Craig Wright have all been named in England’s Under-20s starting line-up for their third Six Nations clash against Scotland on Friday evening (23 February, kick-off: 7.15pm).
Scrum-half McParland made it a debut to remember last time out with a first-half score in the bonus-point victory over Wales at the Recreation Ground, while wing Cousins, flanker Pollock and hooker Wright all continued their rampaging form in the 28-7 win for the Red Rose.
And Mark Mapletoft’s side now sit at the top of the table after adding that success over Wales to their opening bonus-point win against Italy, with the Northampton quartet amongst those to retain their starting places for Round 3 at the Hive Stadium – as England name a matchday squad containing no uncapped players for the first time in the tournament. The match will be streamed live on the BBC Sport website.
U20s head coach Mark Mapletoft said: “After a fallow week in the Championship, the boys are raring to go and are determined to continue the strong start we’ve made to this year’s tournament.
“Scotland pose a unique challenge and possess a physical threat at the breakdown and set-piece that will put our capabilities to the test. We can’t wait for what is in store this Friday in Edinburgh.
“An awful lot of work has gone into what England fans have seen on the pitch and we’re thankful for all the support we have received, it’s spurred us as a team on and we urge for more of the same in the forthcoming rounds.”
