Northampton Saints head of community Connor Fleming is relishing the prospect of another Redrow Homes 7s Finals Day at Franklin’s Gardens, with 12 teams set to take to the hallowed turf.
Finals Day in the under-13 boys category will see qualifiers from six regional tournaments across Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk lock horns in Northampton for a day of fast-paced 7s rugby.
Colchester RGS, St Joseph’s College, The Perse, Wellingborough School, Bishop Stopford School, Buckingham School, Warwick School, Bedford School, Lincroft Academy, Cotswold School and Magdalen College will all be hoping to scoop the prestigious silverware with matches beginning at 10.30am on Wednesday 24 April.
“We are delighted to once again be hosting the Redrow Homes 7s Series finals here at Franklin’s Gardens, and I’ve no doubt there will be some superb rugby on display throughout the day,” said Saints’ Head of Community Connor Fleming.
“Playing on the Northampton Saints pitch is a brilliant prospect for all the schools involved, and we hope that it helps to inspire this next generation of rugby players.
“The standard definitely seems to go up year on year, and congratulations must go to every school taking part for reaching the final stages of the competition.
“Saints are hugely grateful to Redrow for their backing in making this tournament happen – with their support we’re developing our provision and making rugby more accessible to young people across six counties.
“We’ve had a great response and have seen an increase in schools signing up to take part in the Redrow Homes 7s.”
