Jamie Gibson’s immediate impact at Northampton Saints has been recognised and rewarded by the club’s supporters, who have voted the flanker the Steffans Player of the Month for October and earned him a TW Steel watch in the process.
Gibson, who was man of the match in the Aviva Premiership win over Newcastle, has played every minute of the season so far on the flank, coming within a whisker of opening his try scoring account at Sale and leading the way in terms of lineouts won and tackles made.
The TW Steel Clubman of the Month award goes to facilities administrator Kristy Coates, who has put in a massive number of hours above and beyond her normal call of duty to help make sure that the stadium was ready for the opening home match of the season on November 7th.
Stadium manager Andy Tresias says that she deserves plenty of praise for doing largely unseen work.
“Without Kristy’s help over the past few weeks and months life would have been much harder at Franklin’s Gardens, especially with the stadium development,” he said. “She has put in considerable amounts of time and effort into her work, regularly staying in the office long after the time when she should have gone home, and has been a big part of why the development this summer has gone as smoothly as it has.”
The club also announced that Harry Kyd has won a £50 voucher for use at Steffans Northampton after having their name pulled out of the hat from those supporters who voted this month.
For over 30 years Steffans has been the pre-eminent jewellers in Northampton.
