Saints Supporters’ Club are helping YOU go green while supporting the team away from home this season – with coach tickets for all of Saints’ away games on the mainland available to purchase.
With nearly 400 miles possible on a round trip to see Saints take on Exeter Chiefs, you could end the season with a hefty carbon footprint if you get in the car to support the side every week.
But the Supporters Club are aiming to reduce emissions while also making sure no-one misses out on cheering on the lads.
“Travelling to away games can be a bit of a nightmare,” said Saints Supporters’ Club chairman David Lowrence. “You have to find your way there, organise parking, and avoid alcohol because of driving. But there is also another issue – your carbon footprint!
“We asked the University of Northampton to look at the green credentials for supporters travelling to away matches. They told us that based on a 350 mile round trip (i.e to Exeter, Newcastle or Sale), 24 separate car journeys will result in 2,338kg of CO2e emissions.
“The coach trip for 53 people would result in just 810kg CO2e emissions, so the coach trip is considerably greener!”
Coaches run to every one of Saints’ games on the mainland, and prices start at just £15 – with discounts available for Supporters’ Club members, concessions and students – so be sure to take a look by CLICKING HERE
