Northampton Saints centre Rory Hutchinson has been called into the Scotland squad ahead of their summer fixtures.
The 25-year-old will join the Scotland group later this week after completing his medical checkout at Franklin’s Gardens.
Hutchinson caught the eye across Saints’ final few rounds of Gallagher Premiership action, ending the season in style with three tries in two matches against Exeter Chiefs and Bath.
Scotland will convene at Oriam High Performance Centre on Tuesday 15 June to prepare for their fixture against England A on Sunday 27 June, with a smaller squad then travelling to Romania and Georgia for two Test matches on consecutive Saturdays (10 & 17 July respectively).
“Given Rory’s excellent recent form for Northampton Saints, we saw this as a great opportunity to bring him in and he joins what is an already exciting squad,” said Scotland’s Interim Head Coach Mike Blair.
