Jets hooker Sid Tobias bagged three of their nine tries, two in the second half as the hosts moved clear - despite the Wanderers themselves producing four different scorers on a chilly and challenging Sale evening.
The first two penalties of the evening went to the Wanderers and while Glyn Hughes missed touch with one, a crisply struck second bisected the posts for the lead. It wouldn't last long however, Sale putting good pace on the ball and releasing full back Jody Rose in the left corner.
The Wanderers' response was good and after Hughes forced Rose into touch with a well judged grubber, Mike Haywood broke from the back of a maul at the second time of asking to recapture a narrow advantage.
Again the Jets needed just two minutes to hit back and it was with another maximum that they did so. It was a more direct score than the first, battering their way within range before Ireland prop Tony Buckley crashed under the posts, Jordan Davies adding the extras.
It was turning into a tit-for-tat encounter and the Wanderers produced a peach of a score to edge back ahead. Vasily Artemyev, Scott Armstrong and James Craig were all involved in a flowing, offloading move before Ben Nutley flicked the last out of the back door to send Paul Diggin between the uprights.
The visitors would have been disappointed by the simple nature of the Jets next score though, hooker Tobias recollecting from the top of the lineout and looping over after Sale had earned a penalty just five metres out having reclaimed the restart.
And when Hughes' restart went out on the full, the hosts punished the mistake to the full, burning down the right off the back of the scrum and keeping the ball alive for Andrew Higgins to seal a bonus point with just 27 minutes on the clock.
The two sides seemed to be scoring with every attack and the Wanderers produced another super score through Nutley. Sale knocked on in attack and with men spread wide, the ball was moved quickly to Diggin who hared down the wing. The winger skipped out Cesar Sempere in support to find Haywood, who made the final pass to Nutley - the flanker breaking through a pair of Sale tackles.
Diggin was terrorising the hosts, his next run making some 50 metres and Artemyev followed his lead with a similarly fleet footed break on the left as the game refused to drop its frenetic pace right up to the interval.
It continued after, too, and with an Armstrong effort chalked off for a knock on, the Jets again powered their way up to and over the Wanderers line through Wame Lewaravu. The lead was widened six minutes later when Alex Brown's try was converted by Addison but the seven pointer was quickly cancelled out by Greig Tonks for a Wanderers bonus that more than kept the game alive.
That was until Sale powered over for a seventh try, Onosa'i Auva'a providing the standout break that eventually ended in Tobias' second of the evening and the hooker completed his hat-trick with eight minutes to play, rounding the Wanderers' last man and evading Anders Mogensen's last ditch tap tackle.
Injuries were hampering any sort of fightback from the Wanderers and the final try of the evening went with the Jets too, through Luther Burell.
While defeat means the Wanderers slipped behind their opponents and into second place in the Aviva 'A' League North Conference, victory in next Monday's Gardens tie with Leeds would likely still ensure their progression to the semi-finals.
