Job opportunities in Saints community team

The department is seeking the following:

RUGBY COACHES to deliver the club’s range of programmes in the community, especially within local schools.

Coaches will be required to deliver a structured programme in both Northamptonshire and the surrounding counties, identifying appropriate community groups and developing partnerships for future activities.

Coaches must have a minimum Level 2 Rugby Football Union coaching award qualification, be DBS checked and hold a full UK drivers licence.


SOCIAL INCLUSION OFFICER to deliver the Saints’ award-winning HITZ programme in Northampton which uses the ethos of rugby to inspire young people aged 16-to-19 who are not in education, training or employment.

Working with the Safer Neighbourhoods teams, youth groups and other relevant agencies, including the club’s education partner, the Social Inclusion Officer will identify and direct young people onto relevant educational and training opportunities, including volunteering, work placements and apprenticeships.

The Social Inclusion Officer will liaise with relevant stakeholders to raise awareness among target audiences, and to maximise the exposure of Always A Chance as a charity.

Candidates must have a minimum Level 2 Rugby Football Union coaching award qualification and be experienced in coaching in a range of environments, be DBS checked and be able to adapt the delivery of their coaching to be tailored to the different needs and abilities of participants. A full UK drivers licence is essential, as is a willingness to work flexible hours and a passion for sport and the understanding of wider issues related to sport, health and education.


LITTLE SAINTS COACHES to deliver a popular club initiative intended to help young children develop their fundamental movement skills through interactive play and structured games and activities.

Little Saints coaches will be required to put together engaging and interactive plans for each session that are tailored for each individual age group (2-4-year-olds and 5-7-year-olds). They will also be expected to develop relationships that can expand the programme into new areas and towns.

Little Saints coaches must have a minimum Level 2 Rugby Football Union coaching award qualification, be DBS checked and hold a full UK drivers licence. Experience working within the pre-school sector would be advantageous.
