The Northampton Celebration of Cycling event is part of the County Council's Summer of Cycling. So if Bradley Wiggins, Sir Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton, Laura Trott and the rest of the Team GB cycling team have inspired you to use pedal power to get fit, then look no further than Saturday's day at Beckets Park, Northampton!
There will be loads of fun, including The BomberDrome - a cycle wall of death display from the Ministry of Bicycles - free rickshaw rides, a BMX mini-ramp with displays from Adrenaline Alley and expert tuition so you can have a go yourself, a free bike health check from Dr Bike, suggested bike rides throughout the town and county, and a pedal-powered race track so you can challenge your friends and cycle your way to victory!
Saturday will also see the launch of the Connect 2 Route, a three-mile track connecting Northampton town centre with Briar Hill, St James Mill, Sixfields and Upton, with further links to Swan Valley and Kislingbury.
People who cycle or walk the route can enter a prize draw to win themselves a new bike!
You can also use the Connect 2 Route to help prepare you for Cycle4Cynthia 2012 on Sunday, September 23rd. Join Jim Mallinder in cycling either five, 25 or 50 miles from Althorp and help raise money for Cynthia Spencer Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Care.
