Macron launch ‘Noi Ci Siamo’ campaign to confront Coronavirus spread

Northampton Saints’ technical sponsor, Macron, have today launched a no-profit project aimed at stopping the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Italy.

In response to the country’s health crisis in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic, Macron – who are Italy’s leading technical sportswear manufacturer – will utilise its production and logistics operations in Asia and Italy for the manufacturing and distribution of personal protective equipment.

This will include respirator and surgical masks, hospital grade overalls and gowns for healthcare workers, operators of the civil protection and for law enforcement personnel in Italy.

In less than ten days, the ‘Noi Ci Siamo’ (which translates to ‘We Are Here’) campaign has seen Macron activate large-scale production of several types of protective equipment that will be transported via special charter flights to the company’s base in Bologna.

From there, the products will be distributed throughout Italy, with a whopping eight million pieces expected to arrive over the course of the next week.

All products conform to the highest medical standards and certifications, and the entire production process is strictly monitored by Macron’s inspectors.

“It seemed natural to us to offer our know how and supply chains in a moment of such difficulty for our country and for the entire world,” said Gianluca Pavanello, Macron’s Chief Executive.

“In Asia, we have a well-structured organisation that is able to handle the production of various types personal protective equipment – items that these days have become highly necessary.

In compliance with rules imposed by the Italian government, at this moment Macron is only distributing protective equipment in Italy. As soon as it is logistically possible, Macron will be ready to expand the distribution to other European and non-European countries where the Italian brand is already present.
