Macron’s Italian style for the Saints unveiled

Northampton Saints and Macron have unveiled the club’s home and away playing shirts for 2016/17.

The Italian sportswear company and club have worked hand-in-hand to develop a range of playing kit that is both at the cutting edge of technical apparel as well as being in line with the forward-thinking fashion that has become Macron’s hallmark for its prestige international clubs.

The home shirt sees a modern twist on the 110-year-old black, green and gold, with each traditional hoop in a two-tone colour effect. The away shirt is white, with a geometric tone-on-tone print that integrates the Saints’ club colours on the left-hand side.

The home shirt will be available in both a looser-fitting supporters’ replica version and a pro-shirt that will be exactly the same as that which will be worn by the team on match days. The pro-shirt is made of a body-hugging fabric developed specifically to meet the physical demands of 21st century rugby at the highest level.

These new shirts were worn for the first time by the Saints Sevens squad at Franklin’s Gardens last Friday night in the Northampton leg of the Singha Premiership Rugby Sevens Series.

And supporters can now dress like their heroes, too, as both pro-shirts and replica shirts are now on sale in the Saints Superstore! A traditional cotton version will available in the autumn, and once again the club has kept the price of replica and cotton shirts the same as in previous years.
