The Saints will be heading to the French capital for the first time in a competitive European tournament, where they will play Racing Metro at the Stade Yves du Manoir on Saturday, October 18th (KO 6:15pm local time).

There is another Saturday evening clash in Round 2, with the Saints hosting the Ospreys at Franklin’s Gardens at 5:15pm on Saturday, October 25th.

December then sees back-to-back clashes with Treviso, with the game in northern Italy coming in Round 3 and the return leg in the East Midlands in Round 4.

“Starting our European Rugby Champions Cup campaign in France is both exciting and challenging,” he commented. “Racing Metro is well known as one of the most ambitious clubs in the competition and their squad is packed full of internationals and British Lions.

“It is an important start for us, and hopefully as many Saints supporters as possible will be there to get behind the team in our first competitive match in Paris.

“The game the following week against the Ospreys will be just as important. Winning your home games is crucial if you want to progress into the quarter finals, and we know from our two games against them last season that the Ospreys will be tough opponents.”

The club is now taking registrations of interest in the official trips to both Paris and Treviso. To put your name down for either of these mouth-watering continental journeys email [email protected]
