Mallinder calls for big finish to Aviva Premiership Rugby regular season

The Saints' Round 21 win over Exeter put them in pole position to qualify for a semi-final spot, but Mallinder insists that neither players nor supporters should take anything for granted against the Warriors tomorrow afternoon.

"The job is only half-done," he said this week. "We put in a good performance against Exeter and the win put us back into fourth spot ahead of the last round of the regular season.

"However we can still be caught and we do not want our place in the play-offs to be in other teams' hands. Only a win over Worcester will guarantee our place in the knockout stages and we have been fully focused on achieving that in training this week.

"Worcester will be dangerous opponents for us. They have secured their place in the Premiership and can play without any pressure or fear. We still remember how Leeds scored three tries very quickly against us at the same stage last year, and Worcester are capable of doing the same if we give them the time and space to do so.

"But we're not intending to do that. The spirit in the squad has been good and all of the players have pushed very hard for a place in the team. Now we are looking for them to put in a good performance and secure our place in the semi-finals."

Saturday's game is sold out, but supporters can follow the action from Franklin's Gardens in a number of ways. The club's official Facebook page and Twitter feed will have the usual blog and score updates, while live match commentary is available via BBC Radio Northampton.

The game is also being shown live on Sky Sports 1, with coverage starting at 1:30pm.
